About Me

I am blessed to be the wife of one incredible husband. And to be the mom of two wonderful daughters. God has blessed us beyond our imagination. While according to the world's standards (particularly our culture's) we don't have much. Yet, we have everything. God has given us all that we need. Not more, not excess, but just what we need.

I am so wonderfully blessed to be a stay-at-home mommy. Believe me, there are days when I want to just scream and pull my hair out, I wouldn't trade this time with our children for anything. God gave them to us to raise, so why would I pay someone to watch them for me everyday? There is more to life than a dual income (besides, after figuring up how much it would cost for me to be working, it doesn't make sense to do so)

We believe that God gave us our children to raise for His glory. To that end, it is our responsibility to train them in the ways they should go. For us, this means we are called to homeschool. We do not want to answer for the training of our children by saying that we gave that responsibility to another.

I would love to someday give birth at home. I am very non-interventionist (I do believe that interventions do have a place, but they are over-used in our society). I believe that in the majority of cases birth is simply a life experience, not a medical event. Someday I hope to be a Certified Professional Midwife and deliver babies at home. However, not until we have finished having ours!

We are Christians. There in only one way to the Father, and that is through His son.

I believe that as women, especially mothers, we are called to be keepers at home. To create a place that is a safe refuge from the world for the ones in our care. It is an awesome responsibility to maintain a home, to cook, clean, care for the children, and care for a husband. There are days when the task of being a keeper of the home is daunting, it is still our task. My husband goes off to work each day to provide for us, so the least I can do is make our home a welcoming place to return to. While I have heard it said that being just a stay-at-home mom is boring and pointless, I refuse to let it be so. I see each day as a new challenge. There are new things to learn, new methods of cleaning and teaching to try, new recipes to ferret out. Do everything to the glory of God. Then, it isn't so boring. Believe me, I don't like washing dishes by hand or folding laundry very much either. However, if we grumble about it, we will make ourselves more miserable. So, choose the attitude that is better. That serves others with a cheerful spirit. It will be what you make it.
